Collagen-Boosting Microneedling - patch test required at least 48 hours before treatment

​

To trigger the production of collagen and elastin within the skin, the needles need to reach the dermis at a depth of 0.5mm. Growth factors are released following the needle puncture which in turn stimulates neocollagenesis  (the forming of collagen as a result of injury and wound healing). 

​

This is sometimes referred to as 'collagen induction therapy' and is used to achieve a greater level of skin rejuvenation.

Mesotherapy Microneedling

Mesotherapy Microneedling is more superficial than Collagen-Boosting Microneedling and is used to treat specific skin concerns with a potent cocktail of active ingredients. We offer Exosomes, Salmon DNA and Bio-Revitalising Skin Boosters packed full of clinically-tested active ingredients that can be absorbed deep in the epidermis.

Exosomes

Exosomes are tiny particles naturally produced by our cells that carry powerful ingredients like proteins, lipids, and genetic material. They help cells communicate and have been shown to support skin regeneration, reduce inflammation and even stimulate hair growth — making them a cutting-edge ingredient in advanced aesthetic treatments.

Before the Treatment

 

If dermaplaning, do this 24 hours before the treatment. Avoid using high strength acids and retinol for at least two weeks before treatment. Avoid products with active ingredients for 3-5 days before treatment. Avoid any anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen for a few days before treatment.

​

 

During the Treatment

 

Depending on the depth of the needling, you may feel a slight tingling sensation, but most clients find the procedure comfortable or completely painless due to the advanced Dermapen 4 technology. 

 

Immediately After

 

At a depth of 0.5mm, we would expect there to be redness and some pinpoint bleeding during the treatment (this is a positive outcome to get the collagen-production going). Your skin may feel warm and tight immediately after treatment, similar to a mild sunburn which typically settles within 24-48 hours. At a depth of 0.25mm, there is unlikely to be pinpoint bleeding and less redness as the treatment is more superficial.
